Congratulations to the students who participated in the All-Ireland Indoor Rowing Championships which were held in the University of Limerick on January 23rd 2016. This was a first time that our students entered that competition.
Preparations for the event began last September with training in a local gym twice weekly. Under the guidance of their trainer, Mrs Anne Shore, the boys faithfully and diligently pursued the training programme and it resulted in the awarding of a silver and bronze medal for Evan Walsh-Murphy(Pearse) in the individual competition and a very creditable third place finish in the Junior Team event.
The team consisted of
Joshua Martin (Verdun), Richard O'Neill (Jutland), Cathal O'Rourke (Marne), Eamonn Jones (5th Year), Lee Martin (5th Year), Donal Harrington (TY), Luke Harrington (Kenema), Jacob English (Kenema) Jack Kinsella and Evan Walsh-Murphy( Pearse)
